Entrepreneurial Connections 2003
April 2 - April 6, 2003
Denver, Colorado
EntConnect offers an opportunity to meet with other entrepreneurs, discussing topics
like New Internet Technologies, presented by Bill French, co-inventor of Lap Link; entrepreneurial
law; marketing; balancing the personal and business sides of our lives; fun with microcontrollers; working with
lawyers and the legal system; video, audio, and digital photography as it relates to computers and the Internet;
learning what we really do in our businesses; and much much more.
Please join Patty Taylor, Les Squires, Bill French, John Gaudio and a number of their
technically inclined fellow entrepreneurs as they gather in Denver, Colorado to share ideas and
learn about technology, business, and life in the world of entrepreneurs. All this in a laid
back atmosphere with time for good food, a few drinks, a little skiing and the chance to meet
friends, associates, future partners, and a great bunch of people who love technology and
"organize or manage business undertakings, assuming the risk for the sake of the profit."
Friday Night our Keynote Speaker, Jeff Wiss,
will present "What Do I Really Do?" A.K.A. "Position Your Company For Success".
Jeff has worked with hundreds of high-tech companies, helping them discover their hidden
skills, talents, and assets; teaching them to accelerate their growth in the market by better
communicating what it is that they really do for their clients.
Les Squires, Community Development Specialist, Word Jenny, Inc. said:
"I learned things about my own company that I just didn't know before. My
answer to 'what do you do?' is very different now from what it was before
the presentation. This really opened my eyes."
Tough Times, Resilient People
A great deal has changed in the last two years, yet opportunities abound if we look in the
right places. Our greatest treasures lie not in our portfolios, our bank accounts, or the
property we own, but in the relationships we have with God, ourselves, family members, friends,
and those with whom we work, play, and learn. They come also, as Earl Nightingale said, from
"the gold mind between your ears." Please share some of your insights, knowledge, wisdom, advice,
and expertise with your entrepreneurial friends this April.
Patty Taylor has agreed share with us how she and her company survived the death of her
husband Dan, built a 32,000 square foot facility, and built enough business in a "stinky
economy" to cover $13,000 per month in additional lease payments, all in the last year.
As our long time direct marketing expert, Patty will also let us know how the coming of age
of the Internet is affecting the whole direct marketing world.
Meet great people, talk, listen, learn, teach, and enjoy the company of friends, both old and
new. Skiers and early birds start out at 8:00 PM Wednesday April 2nd, with drinks and
conversation in the bar of the Radisson Stapleton Plaza Hotel. Thursday we ski. Then we gather
for dinner Thursday night. Of course non-skiers are welcome to eat too. :-)
Friday, after an informal breakfast, we show off our work/toys in a mini tradeshow.
Nothing fancy, just a place with wireless 80211-B Internet access, tables, power, and the
opportunity to gather and learn from our peers. After a dinner break we'll get down to business
with our Friday night keynote session; more sessions all day Saturday, competition,
entertainment, a few beers and a session or two Saturday night, and a few more sessions on Sunday.
Early bird pricing of $199.00 for adults, and $99.00 for youth under 21, is available
until Friday, March 28th.
Bill French, co-inventor of Lap Link, and our own "peripheral visionary"
will fill us in on new knowledge management techniques, extraordinary
technologies, his home runs and some of the times he struck out.
I'll tell you what I've learned about verbal contracts, the law, working with attorneys,
lawsuits, and a bit on digital photography, video, and the Internet.
Myke Komarnitsky will teach us about Mantis, a tool used to track and kill software bugs, manage
tasks, and set priorities.
Howie Grapek will teach us about Internet hosting and co-location.
Jeff Wiss will help us to learn what we really do in our businesses.
John Plotkin will answer questions about law and the entrepreneur.
And that's just for starters.
As always, Entrepreneurial Connections comes with a money back guarantee. If you're not happy,
I'm not happy. Please join us in April, and bring your entrepreneurial friends.
